The native cockroach can be found outside your house, in particular in bark gardens and firewood. These cockroaches prefer the cooler environments, and mostly
get into your house by accident. They can establish themselves in buildings but this is rare. The juveniles are a light brown, and the adults have
reddish tinge to their brown colour. The are the smallest (<2.5cm long) of the cockroaches found in New Zealand. If they establish themselves in your home, they
will be found in the kitchen, but as they have a tolerance for cooler temperatures they will also be found in other
rooms e.g. bedroom wardrobes. Cockroaches are known to carry pathogens on their body and legs, and have been linked to Asthma .
At night cockroaches crawl over your food preparation surfaces in search of food.
TREATMENT:Aces will eradicate all of the Native Cockroaches in your home or business and stop more coming in. This can be achieved by a one
hour visit from Aces. The most important treatment with native cockroaches is an external and internal spray of your building with a residual (long lasting)
spray. This prevents the cockroaches from gaining entry into your home. As this cockroach can establish itself in your kitchen its some treatment of
the kitchen is recommended also. The first is PERMEX dust. Aces blows this in the cockroaches' hiding places. Finally Aces uses Goliath Gel bait from BASF.
This is a sweet bait and is sented to attract the cockroaches. Goliath Gel bait goes on killing the cockroaches for weeks and months after
the treatment. Goliath Gel bait is a slow acting digestive posion, so that cockroach has time to get back to its hiding place. Here it dies
and is then consumed by the other cockroaches, killing them too. The COMBINATION of all three treatments increases the chances of eradicaiton
of the cockroaches completely.
PROCEDURE: A treatment takes around one hour and there is a two hour stand down period afterwards. The treatments have
a flushing effect and you may see cockroaches for a few days after the treatment. No need to empty the food cupboards. Foliage touching
your building should be trimmed back.
